Abstract: This paper present a framework for mobile computing resource management using intelligent agents. This is aimed at improving the performance of the mobile computing networks. A dynamic dedicated routing will be achieved using specialized intelligent agents. They will also achieve the searching and reserving of the resources (services, generic or computational information) present in the system at a certain time. In the proposed system, each agent will tend to become specialized according to the user requirements, especially regarding the information about the location of the required resources.

This identification label is capable of transmitting data via RF, of receiving and storing data. The present paper presents an RFID-based integrated system that has been developed to allow the identification and traceability of products and subsets in whatever activity field. Hence the possibility of users to define their own information format to be stored in the transponder. Abstract. There are many ways to debug an FPGA SoC. One method could be the JTAG of the FPGA himself used as debug peripheral for the SoC inside. Previously we developed a SoC with an Ethernet core as debug peripheral. Our first real world application with this SoC was an FRID hub so we needed the Ethernet core for sending/receiving data to/from RFID readers. We needed to debug the new SoC without using the Ethernet, so we developed a new RS232 SysCon auto-baud core.

Abstract. An adaptive system for the personalized therapy of dyslalia affecting children between 4 and 7 years old is proposed. Dyslalia represents a disorder of the phono-articulatory apparatus consisting in altered pronunciation of one or several phonemes. Statistics show that 6% of the pre school aged children suffer from different forms of dyslalia. The system will comprise 3 main parts: a mobile device for therapy of the dyslalia, an expert system for personalized therapy module, a virtual model of the mouth cavity. This model will allow visual demonstration of correct positioning of the speech generating elements; the child will make use of a powerful 3D visual instrument that he can explore and interact with. Correlating the flexions of the speech generation elements with the actual sounds, the impact on the patient is considerably increased as he has the possibility of differentiating between the sounds perceived as being correct.

Abstract. The aim of this paper is to present a PDA application that was designed to enable mobile devices to be easily integrated into security systems based on RFID technologies. The main goal of the application was to make the PDA devices capable of reading and writing transponders attached to different products and also communicating with desktop computers in order to transfer database records in both directions. The overall quality of security systems based on RFID technologies is considerably improved by the read-write transponders which can be used anywhere and anytime and which ultimately bring about significant cost cuts and time-shortened operations.

Abstract. The aim of the present work is to present a system to record and calculate the various parameters of elongation of thin iron plates, relying on a recording method that uses a network with rhombic elements. At the same time we present the method used in the analysis of the grid traced on the test-piece. The analysis of the test-piece is made dynamically and thus we get information regarding the maximum limit of deformation, respectively the local admissible deformations in a certain area. One of the advantages of this application is that it allows on-line processing of the deformation process.

Abstract. In the areas where there is little or no communication infrastructure and where existing infrastructure is expensive or inconvenient to use, wireless transmission of data in a network of devices can be a solution. Each node can communicate directly over a short range to the nodes nearby. In order to transmit a message beyond the range of a single node, a node must rely on one or more intermediate nodes to relay the messages to its final destination. This process is known as multi-hop communication.
Therefore, an important requirement is that these nodes must cooperate to form a network amongst them, by executing a common network protocol.
This paper presents two protocols used for data routing in a wireless network of hardware devices. These hardware devices are called SACIC. The first protocol aims the low resources devices. The network is built and controlled by a central node. The second protocol considers all nodes physically moveable, which can be connected dynamically in an arbitrary manner. The resources required are higher because each node must retain knowledge about the network topology in internal tables.

Abstract. The complexity of multiprocessor-based SoC platforms calls for a serious revisiting of several on-chip communications. Architecture described below is implemented on an Xilinx - Virtex-II with SRAM (XC2V1000-4FG456C) device. The IP used are MIPS, DSP, CANopen, I/O ports and memory with memory management unit. The network has a star architecture and IPs are located in the star’s corners. The switches link these IP components and make two direction communications possible. Network interface port is used to link IP components and network. Protocol communication use messages to communicate.

Abstract This paper presents a new approach to fault classification for high protective relaying and show its effectiveness simulation on parallel transmission lines. The scheme is based on the use of neural network architecture. We begin our exploration with classifying fault type like 1-phase-to-ground, 2-phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase. Encouraging results are shown and indicate that this can be uused for supporting a new generation of very high speed protective relying system
