Component Project P1 - "Intelligent Visible Light Communication Systems with Road Assistance and Active Safety Applications"

Infrastructure required

The infrastructure needed to carry out the project has a complex structure involving advanced research equipment and technological development in multiple fields to cover the full range of planned activities. Most equipment is available in the consortium's laboratories, and the proposed purchases aim to meet other needs

The main infrastructure available to the complex project within the coordinating institution is the Integrated Research, Development and Innovation Center for Advanced Materials, Nanotechnologies and Distributed Manufacturing and Control Systems (http://erris.gov.ro/Instrument-Integrated- R)

MANSiD - containing 11 research, development, innovation and business incubators developed with over 150 research equipment acquired in 2015 through a POSCCE project of ~ 31 million ROL, scientifically coordinated by the director of this proposal

In the P1 project, equipment needed for the synthesis and characterization of luminescent materials for OLEDs available at ICMPP (https://erris.gov.ro/INSTITUTUL-DE-CHIMIE-MACROMO) will also be used. Project budget 1 provides a sum of 130,000 lei for the purchase of optoelectronic and computing components and devices required to develop VLC systems.

The activities of Project 2 will be mainly carried out within the Virtual Research and Expanded Research Laboratory (https://erris.gov.ro/cerva.ro) of UOC - and the Intelligent Machine Research Laboratory and Information View of USV, which have complementary research equipment needed to implement the activities: (UOC) - ARENA motion tracking system, virtual reality helmets (VRVision, 3Dvisor), stereoscopic display systems, Sensable PhantomOMNI haptic return devices;(USP) - gesture detection devices (Leap Motion, Myo, Ring Zero), smart clocks, 13m2 video wall and 8K resolution (7680x420 px), VICON motion tracking system. Project budget 2 provides an amount of $ 100,000 to complement this infrastructure with new augmented reality equipment (e.g., new models of glasses, watches, etc.).

Project 3: The activities will be deployed within the Image Processing and Form Recognition Research Center (https://erris.gov.ro/Image-Processing-and-Pattern) of UTCN, the GRID Computing Laboratory (https : //erris.gov.ro/IFIN_GRID) of IFIN and within the Digital Holography Laboratory (https://erris.gov.ro/HOLOProImag---UPB) of UPB that have complementary research equipment needed to implement the activities : (UTCN): 802.11p (Linkbird MX) communication systems, high-precision GPS (Novatel) mobile research platform (vehicle equipped with video cameras, industrial computer, lidar sensors, and CAN bus junction); (IFIN): computing systems and equipment for making communication via visible light; (UPB): digital holography systems and RF wireless communication equipment. The project budget provides a sum of 100,000 lei for completing this infrastructure with new necessary equipment: V2X: 802.11p and LTE communication components, computing equipment and peripherals for computing equipment, smart mobile devices, embedded equipment for encapsulated systems development communication).

The activities of the P4 Project will be mainly carried out in the framework of the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Compatibility, Microwave, Antennas and Propagation from the UPT Measurement and Optical Electronics Laboratory and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (http://erris.gov.ro/ electromagnetic compatibility) of USV. Main Equipments Owned:(UPT): state-of-the-art spectral analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, interfacing equipment; (USV): EMC accredited and fully equipped testing laboratory as well as other EMC / EMI test aids (including semi-anecoic TDK / 30MHz - 18GHz (certified Seibersdorf / Austria)). The budget of the project provides a sum of 125,000 lei for completing this infrastructure with new equipment (antennas, connectors, accessories, power amplifier).
