Associate Professor eng. Zagan Ionel

About me

Currently, I am Associate Professor of Computer Science at Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Romania.
My type of activity is laboratory teacher for: Computers Structure and Organisation, Microprocessor Systems, Microprocessor Architecture, Computer Architecture and Communication Protocols. I am mainly focused on research for real-time and embedded systems, FPGAs, hardware schedulers, microcontrollers and pipeline processors with parallel execution of tasks.

During the studies, I was also fascinated to participate and receive numerous awards in national and international competitions, such as: Spiru Haret - competition of mathematics, Hard & Soft, TIE - Interconnection Techniques in Electronics and CSIDC - Computer Society International Design Competition. By doing this, it was exciting to work with many team mates and teachers guides.

I have obtained in the fifth year of the faculty an ERASMUS scholarship to the University of Catania, Italy, from March to June 2005.

I worked from 2004 to 2005 as software and hardware developer for embedded systems at GenPro Srl. My last job was an interesting and valuable experience at General Electric Oil&Gas, Firenze, Italy. I was responsible for diagnostics, maintenance and upgrade of electronic systems, software, PLC and various CN (Fanuc, Siemens Sinumerik 810D, 880, 840C, 840D, 840D PowerLine, 840D Solution Line), using different industrial networks such as Profibus, AS-Interface and Profinet. Also, I was responsible to manage and apply the lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) safety procedures.
