The Department

The Computers, Electronics and Automation Department is one of the largest departments in the University. Our academic staff is directly involved in teaching and research.

The Department offers a wide range of research areas from the control of hardware processes and engineering to as information technology and artificial intelligence, from the theoretical to the applied. A great number of research activities concentrate around digital and analogical electronic systems, the modelation of electromagnetic phenomena and industrial processes, transmissions of data, systems of vectorial control in electrical drives, industrial computer networks, systems for the control of processes, the modelation of continuous and discrete systems, bases of intelligent data. There are also other focuses such as recognizing forms and processing images, systems of artificial vision for industrial robots, expert systems for automatic monitoring of processes.

Some of the members of the academic staff have been invited to well-known universities or research centers in France, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.

The outcomes of our research have been published in books, articles, scientific magazines and or included in volumes at various symposiums. Among the
beneficiaries of our research studies and contracts we mention: The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Research and Technology, The Council for Academic
Scientific Research, enterprises from different branches of our national economy.

Teaching

The Faculty awards Engineering Diploma in the field.
Our diplomas confer our graduates the same employment rights and official recognition as those offered by the Universities of Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj Napoca.
The Faculty also organise 1 year advanced studies (master level) in Intelligent Systems in Control Processes.
