The Department

The Electrotechnics Department is one of the largest departments of the University. Our academic staff is directly involved in teaching and research. The Department contains a large number of research fields dealing with fundamental issues in the controll of hardware processes and engineering as well as the informatic systems. A great number of activities of research deal with the Linear Motors; Diagnosis of Faults in Transformers and Rotating Electrical Machines; Numerical Management of Electrical Drive Systems; Industrial Key - networks for Process Control; Electromagnetic Field Modulation and Its Application to Electrical Machines and Equipment;

Some of the members of the academic personnel are invited to well-known universities or research centers in France, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.

Organization

There are one teaching & research group in the Department, that headed by a Professor (see About Us section).

Research

The list of the major directions of research:

     Solar motors and "autonomous heliotrope" type solar installation. Keywords: solar energy, heliothermal sensors, solar motor;
     Single-phase micromotors with auxiliary phase and screen turn. Keywords: micromotor, auxiliary phase, screen turn;
     Special electric micromotors. Keywords: micromotors, electrostatic, piezo-electric, solar electric micromotor;
     Low speed linear induction motors. Keywords: linear induction motor, hybrid induction motor, industrial application, electrical traction, electrical drives;
     Digital control of electrical drives. Keywords: digital control, microcontroller, electrical drives, digital transducer.
     Microcontroller based-on adaptive measurement system. Keywords: sensors, transducers, instrumentation, measurement system.
     Research concerning the action of the climatic - meteorologyc factor about the Overhead Electric Lines (OEL)

The outcomes of the activity of research have been published in books, articles, scientific magazines and volumes of some symposiums. The beneficiators of the
contracts of scientific research were: The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Research and Technology, The Council of Academic Scientific Research,
enterprises from different branches of national economy.

Teaching

The Department offers the following degrees:

- Diploma of Engineer in Electronics, specialization Electrotechnics
- Diploma of Engineer in Energetics, specialization Industrial Energetics

The rights offered by the diplomas to the graduates are similar to those of the students from the Universities of Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj Napoca.
